Artwork Description:
This portrait was conceived under the influence of an Asian-born psychiatrist whom Chiao met in Brooklyn. Though she bears no direct resemblance to the subject, her presence inspired the creation of an exotically beautiful, abstracted figure. The palette luxuriates in blacks and deep browns, enlivened by red and pink touches upon the cheeks.
