Artwork Description:
This digital painting is based on a study conceived by Nicholaas Chiao at Minsk Art University. The study intentionally mimicked a pastel painting by Edgar Degas, from whom Chiao borrowed the pose and position of a model. He simply achieved a similar effect that was quite educational in terms of what makes great art great - and composition is the main aspect indeed. Of course, the skill of drawing and painting also counts, but the role of composition was well remembered by the artist.
