Artwork Description:
When the artist's family left for America their only possession in Belarus remained a lot of land and an abandoned house in Village Yachnoje. Chiao many times regretted how overly quickly and poorly prepared his family moved to America, losing everything that they had in Belarus. Here he imagined the small palace that could have been built in Village Yachnoe in those years. He thinks that the family would be stronger and wealthier if connections with Belarus had been better kept.
